Create Filters to Analyze Your Survey Data – Analytics Features
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on October 26, 2009
Once you have deployed your survey and gotten your first set of results back, it’s time to make sense of all that data. One of the most useful tools to use in order to do this is filters. Filters help you accomplish something similar to what crosstabs allow you to do. Let’s say that your first survey question was, “Are you male or female?”. You could then set a filter to show you all of the results for everyone who is a male. You could also set a filter to show you the analytics for all of those respondents who are female. Filters essentially allow you to see your analytics/data for all respondents who responded to a question in a certain way. Make sure to watch the video above for more information.

Create Crosstabs (Cross-Tabulations) of Your Online Survey Data
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on October 6, 2009
Learn how to make crosstabs / cross-tabulations from your online survey data. Once you have the appropriate cross-tabs, you can export these to excel or simply print them out. Cross-tabs allow you to view how a cross section of respondents responded to a series of questions. For example, if you wanted to see how all males responded to the question about how they felt about MTV, you could create a crosstab between these two questions. Using the crosstab, you can also see how many percentage of the people who were very satisfied with MTV were male and how many percent were female. This sort of analysis can be very useful. It is true that you can accomplish some of this type of analysis using filters. The filters + crosstabs combo can be even more powerful. Make sure to view the video embedded above for more details.
Example:

From the cross-tabulation above, you will be able to tell how people responded to two separate questions. For example, from the picture above, you can see that of the people who are in the 45-54 year age group, 49 of them are male and 58 are female.
Analytics Data Tab – Analyze Your Online Survey Results
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on
Sometimes you may want to view your survey results on a response by response basis. The analytics data tab is meant for exactly this. Using this tab, you can see how each person responded to the survey. You can do some preliminary crosstab-like analysis here as well. You can group your results by a given response type, and even export your results to SPSS, Excel, or other similar software. The video above discusses the analytics data tab in some detail. If you have any further questions, make sure to ask us!
The Analytics Overview Tab – Analyze Your Online Survey Results at a Glance
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on
Once you’ve published your online survey and now have results, it is time to analyze them. In the video above you can see some of the basic features in FluidSurveys analytics. One of the nice features of analytics is that you can, with the click of one button, maximize the analytics screen to focus on it more. The “overview” tab is only meant to give you a view of what’s going on in your survey at a glance. It’s not meant for thorough analysis and that’s why it’s a really good place to start.
Share Your Survey Results with Colleagues Through a Link
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on October 5, 2009
When you conduct an online survey, you will typically have many people within your organization who will be interested in your results. As a matter of fact, they might be so interested that they will keep knocking on your door once every 2 hours to ask: “so, what are the latest results”? Sound familiar? Well, we know exactly how you feel and that’s why we’ve added a feature to allow you to share your survey results with anyone you’d like through a password protected link. The great thing about this feature is that the person who you share the results with will also be able to see them in real time as well.
Invite Users Via Email to Take Your Online Surveys
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on
One of the most common ways to invite users to take online surveys is via email. Whenever you are inviting users to take a survey via email, you can always just grab the survey link and send it to them via your personal email address. However, if you want to be able to track who has taken your survey and who has not, then it may be advantageous to use our email invite system. The tutorial video above describes how to use our email system to import your contacts, send them email invites (we even allow you to do mail merges), and track the responses. Finally, we teach you how to send reminders to those who haven’t taken your survey as well.
Learn How to Add Meta Data and Tags to Your Online Surveys
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on
You may want to add meta-tags to your surveys for a variety of reasons. The most common reason to use meta tags is to describe the page either to search engines or even screen readers or other devices that may need to know what your page is all about. In this video, we describe how you can add meta-tags to your online surveys.
Further to this, in this video, we discuss how to add tags to your surveys so you can search for them at a later point. If you are a FluidSurveys power user, you probably already have 50+ surveys on your account and tagging these surveys will allow for you to search for them better. You can think of tags like folders. If you want to put all of your surveys on customer satisfaction in the customer satisfaction folder, then you should assign the “customer satisfaction” tag on that survey.
Put a Popup Survey Invitation on Your Website or Blog
Posted in: Blog, Tutorials by admin on October 1, 2009
There are many ways to use FluidSurveys to invite respondents to take a survey on your website. You can, of course, just put a link to your survey or even invite respondents via email. Another really nice way to do this is to show your users a popup dialog. By this, we don’t mean the annoying popups you’re used to seeing. What we’ve done instead is build a modal dialog box that is not as obtrusive. The nice thing about our survey invite popup is that it will remember if someone decides not to take the survey. It will also remember if someone decides to be reminded later about it. For more info, watch the video above.
