How to Send Survey Reminders to a Select Group of People

Thanks to a recent improvement with FluidSurveys, you can now control exactly who will receive your survey reminders when the time comes to gently remind your respondents that they have some work to do!

Select Who Should Receive your Reminder Email

We have had a number of customers ask us for this feature, so our developers were happy to oblige. So how exactly do we make use of this new feature?

First, you send the survey..

In our example, it’s assumed that you’ve already created a survey and sent out your initial email invitations. So we’re skipping ahead to the ‘advanced’ stuff.

Then you select your Survey & click Publish

To begin, select the survey that needs reminders sent. Next, simply click on the Publish icon located in the upper-right section of your FluidSurveys program window.

Click Publish

Now we click this-a-way…

Now we need to click on Reminders/History that appears at the left-hand-side of the program window.

Click Reminders History

Find your survey

Now you will be presented with a list of all surveys that have had invitations sent out. What you need to do is select the survey that needs reminders, and then click Actions & Send Reminders.

Send Reminders

Ooooh, new options!

Now we simply choose the Recipient option that best suits our needs! In this example, we’ve selected ‘Customize recipients in the next page.’

Customize Recipients

Editor’s Note: It might also be a good idea to un-tick ‘Exclude contacts who have already received reminders’ depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Do your thing!

And now we simply choose who should receive our reminder message. Piece of cake!

That’s a great additional feature. Thanks.

  • James says:

Are you able to program the reminder to automatically send out the survey to selected recipients on selected dates? For example, I want a group of 10 participants to file updates on their progress for six months on the first day of each month.
Can this be programmed to send out reminders for example, March 1, April 1, May 1 etc…

  • Matthew says:

    Hello James,

Once the initial e-mail invite has been sent out, you would absolutely be able to schedule reminders. One point to note, however, when scheduling a reminder, this means the individual will receive the exact survey link they originally received and completed.

If you are looking to gather different sets of data, per user, per month, then we would highly recommend using a new survey invite rather than a reminder.

We hope this helps and if you have any additional questions, please contact our direct support e-mail, support@fluidsurveys.com !

    Regards,
    -Matthew.

  • Does this way of distribution still keep the responses anonymous?

  • RickPenwarden says:

    Hi Jody,
When gathering responses from an email list on the invite tool, FluidSurveys allows you to see which response came from which email. This is also the case with reminders. Of course you can hide this information easily using the privacy and security options in settings. If you need any more help, contact support@fluidsurveys.com.
