Text Response Question – Open Ended Question

The text response question or “open ended” question type is really valuable if you’d like to ask someone to type in their answer. The good news is that you can use this question type for short responses and really long multi-line responses. One of the questions that we get most frequently about this question type is: is there a limit to how much text can be typed into one of these boxes? The answer is that there is no limit :). To learn more about open ended questions, check out our new article in the University called comparing closed-ended and open-ended questions

The text response question type also comes with a great deal of validation options so that you can limit the amount of text that is typed in or the format of text that is typed in. We are always adding more validation types so make sure to keep checking for new ones :). Watch the video above for details!
