Interesting Website for Stirring up Debates

We’re all about collecting data and are always on the lookout for cool services that promote the cause. We recently found a fun site that collects data on opposing views – think of it almost as a debate generator: justtellmewhy.com

Questions are posted in this site and users comment on them, creating a collection of knowledge about a very specific topic. Think of a wikipedia of opinions where content is built in the form of tweets.

For example, one of the top 5 dichotomies today was “Facebook Lovers vs. Facebook Haters ” where almost 100 people argue why they hate this social network. Besides dichotomies you can find other kind of debates, funny ones like “Who is the most handsome man or most beautiful woman in the world?” where you have opinions ranging from “My aunt” to “Kirsten Stewart” to “Megan Fox”.

You can definitely suggest your own dichotomies to be commented but unless you have your own audience, we recommend it to be a viral or polarizing topic to attract enough opinions for it to get engagement.

The credit for this idea goes to Cristian Eslava, a spanish web designer that wanted a better way for people to learn and interact via debates. As he states it “there is no straightforward voting, you vote with an argument, with your opinion”.
