A ranking question specifically asks users to rank a given variable. This question type is like a multiple choice question except that the choices are shown horizontally rather than vertically. Secondly, the ranking question can be used to force a unique answer for each of the specified variables. For example, if you ask a respondent to rank his favorite foods from 1 to 10 and you don’t want him to rank two different foods with the same ranking, you can use this question format to accomplish this. A sample star rating question: How to Use: The ranking question, in some ways is incorporated into other question types. For example, if you would like to allow users to rank 1 variable, you can use a multiple choice question and click on the option to display the choices in a horizontal format. If you would like to rank a number of variables together, you can use a multiple choice matrix question to accomplish this and click on the “force unique” option in order to prevent someone from choosing the same ranking for more than one variable.
