HIV Criminalization & Quality of Care

You are invited to participate in a survey that should take about 15 minutes to complete.

Your responses to these questions will help us better understand the knowledge health care providers have about laws regarding HIV exposure and transmission and the impact of HIV criminalization on the patient-provider relationship and care given to persons living with HIV. Nurses from all practice areas and work settings are encouraged to participate. This survey is not limited to nurses with HIV experience. We are interested in the opinions of a wide range of nurses.

Please read the questions and answer to the best of your ability. At the end of the survey questions, you will have an opportunity to provide additional feedback or suggestions about the study. Your answers will be anonymous and confidential. All responses will be coded and stored without personal identifying information. However, you will be asked to complete a demographic questionnaire to help us better understand the types of health care providers who responded to the survey. Your completion of the survey will signify that you have provided informed consent. Please print a copy of this webpage as your record of informed consent.

To thank you for your contribution to the research project, you will be given the option to enter your name in a drawing to win an iPad or similar tablet valued at approximately $500 USD. Your email is requested only if you chose to participate in the drawing for an iPad and will not be linked to your survey response. Drawing rules are available at the end of the survey or by answering "yes" to the question below.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email the lead researcher, Dr. J. Craig Phillips, PhD, LLM, RN, ARNP, PMHCNS-BC, ACRN at craig.phillips@uottawa.ca or call him at (613) 562-5800 ext. 8612.
