* Participatory Representative: A person who,

  1. Holds office either, as a hereditary Chief, traditional leader of a member First Nation, Grand Chief, head of a First Nation provincial/territorial political organization or head of a tribal council and as such may speak on any Agenda item; or
  2. Is the head of a Treaty group or a First Nation organization or association with which the BC Assembly of First Nations has entered into a written protocol that allows for invitations to be extended to such persons to attend and be permitted to speak at Assemblies on specific issues, as authorized by the protocol; or
  3. Is a member of the BCAFN Board of Directors pursuant to the Society’s Constitution and Bylaws and Policy and Procedures Manual; or
  4. Is a Committee Representative pursuant to the Society’s Constitution and Bylaws and Policy and Procedures Manual.
**Observer:  Any person other than a person registering as a Chief, Proxy Holder, Participatory Representative, may apply to register as an Observer.

Youth Delegate: a First Nations youth between the age of 19-29 that has been chosen by their First Nation's leadership on Vancouver Island as their designated community representative.  Youth delegates must include a signature from their Chief Councillor or Band Manager to demonstrate endorsement as a "youth delegate". 

Travel and Accommodation

The Regional Youth Forum is open to all youth; however, participants identified as a "youth delegate", based on the above definition, will receive accommodations for September 21-22. A confirmation of hotel booking will be emailed upon completion of registration.  To secure a room Youth Delegates are asked to register by an earlier date of September 17th. 

Unfortunately, due to limited funding, all participants including youth delegates, will be responsible for their own dinner meals and travel expenses to attend the youth forum.
