Introducing Dynamic Totals

Have you ever wanted to sum the numerical values in a Text Response Grid question in real time?! Well you’re in luck! Now you can with FluidSurveys, as we have added Dynamic Totals onto our lengthy list of functionality. You’re going to love this new feature!

One example of the many uses of Dynamic Totals is to track and tabulate financial records. When you input a text response grid into your editor page you will be able to tabulate scores within a single question. This feature can be used, for example, within a large organization to send financial surveys to specific departments to track their financial records.

To achieve this functionality, you must first add the text response grid to your editor page. In keeping with the example stated above, after this you can add the required variables that your organization needs to tabulate (example: credit, insurance, other expenses, etc.). I would recommend using our bulk editor, this way you can input many variables at the same time, saving you time from having to enter in each variable manually.

Once your text response grid is set up, you must now configure the tabulation portion of the Dynamic Totals. To formulate this step, simply click on the “options” icon on the left hand side in the editor and alter the Sum Labels but putting a dash/hyphen in the Sum (?) box and making sure the Sum Label = “Currently: {y}”.
